Job summary

RISE FAMILY SERVICES in Tucson seeks a Family Specialist to support kinship, foster, and adoptive families within the Foster, Adoption and Kinship programs. This role manages a caseload, trains kinship families, attends court hearings, and writes home studies.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, strong written and verbal communication, reliable transportation, and a commitment to helping children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (social work, behavioral science, human services) and relevant experience.
• Strong writing and verbal communication abilities; effective in individual and group settings.
• Ability to travel and have reliable transportation to attend daily meetings outside the office.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Passion to assist families and children in the foster care system.

Responsibilities

• Manage a family caseload of 20–24 cases.
• Kinship Family Training Instructor Rotation.
• Attend monthly consultations with families including court hearings and CFTS meetings.
• Write home studies, renewals, and amendments.
• Act as a liaison with DCS.
• Participate in Emergency Phone Rotation.
• Advocate and educate kinship, foster and adoptive families.
