Job summary

Josiah White is seeking a Resource Family Developer in Indianapolis to recruit, assess, license, and support foster families in alignment with state regulations and our mission. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, balance of administrative duties with hands-on family support, training coordination, and ongoing advocacy for foster parents.

Normal hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with on-call rotations and occasional evenings or weekend events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and at least one of the following: three years of supervised paid casework experience.
• One year of supervised paid casework experience in a licensed child placing agency or with the department.
• One year of graduate training in a recognized school of social work.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Willingness to uphold Christian values and professional integrity.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess, and license prospective foster parents per Indiana regs and agency standards.
• Evaluate abilities and therapeutic capacity of potential foster parents via interviews, home studies, and references.
• Maintain accurate foster home licensing records with required documents and training hours.
• Provide ongoing support and retention for licensed foster parents through communication and visits.
• Coordinate and facilitate pre-service and in-service training for caregivers.
• Collaborate with managers and specialists to match children with suitable families.
• Advocate for foster parents’ needs and rights to access resources and guidance.
• Represent the agency at church or community events, with on-call rotations when needed.
