Job summary

Guiding Harbor is seeking a FC Visitation Aide in Belleville/Metro Detroit to support foster care and adoption staff. The role involves assisting with visits, transportation, intake processes, and documentation, while attending meetings for professional development.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree or special training a plus.
Experience in caring environment.
Ability to learn and adapt in a supportive role.
Flexible schedule including non-typical hours.
Use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
Understanding of working with children who have experienced trauma.

Responsibilities

Monitor birth and family visits at the agency or in the community.
Assist with transporting consumers.
Document, record keeping and filing for foster care department.
Assist with intake processing for new clients in Foster Care and Adoption Programs.
Attend staff meetings and conferences for development.
Support casework staff in delivering services to clients.
Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts.
Represent the agency positively.
Other duties as assigned.
