Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach's Human Services Department seeks a Human Services Supervisor I for the Permanency Programs Unit. You will supervise Family Service Specialists in Foster Care, guide casework from intake to reunification or adoption, and ensure engagement with families using strengths-based practices.

Responsibilities include after-hours coverage, staff training, data-driven improvement, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to promote child safety and permanency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and seven years of related experience.
• Or a Bachelor's in any field with nine years of related experience in a human services area.
• Three (3) years of experience in Child Welfare.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision for Family Services Specialist in permanency programs.
• Oversee foster care from intake to reunification or adoption.
• Provide after-hours foster care supervisory coverage on a rotating basis.
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Assist with development and training of department staff on client service planning.
