Job summary

National Youth Advocate Programs (NYAP) seeks a dedicated professional to recruit, license, and support foster homes, ensuring they meet community and organizational needs. The role involves traveling to communities and working with youth and families to achieve reunification goals.

Qualifications include a social work or human services degree, 2+ years in direct service with youth, and a driver’s license with reliable transportation. Flexible hours and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
• Preferred FCB certification in case management or licensing.
• 2 years of work experience in direct service with youth and families strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
• Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours for foster caregivers and youth.
• Recruit, train foster parents and perform licensing duties.
• Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served and partners.
• Ability to work objectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Proficient use of computers and standard software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).

Responsibilities

• Recruit, license and retain quality foster homes.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies for licensed foster homes.
• Support potential foster families in understanding needs and licensing processes.
• Meet with families to answer questions and assist with licensing paperwork.
• Maintain foster home records and provide ongoing training and support.
• Complete annual evaluations and recertification of licensed homes.
• Travel daily to provide community-based services to youth and families.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and weekly supervision.
