Job summary

The Children’s Home Network (CHN) in Tampa, FL is seeking a Licensing Specialist to support Hillsborough County foster families. You will conduct home studies, oversee licensing and relicensing, provide training, and assist families through crisis to ensure safe, stable homes for children in out-of-home care.

The role requires a SW degree, child welfare experience, Florida certification, a valid driver’s license, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of experience working with children with special needs in a child welfare setting.
• Current Florida Child Welfare Certification through the Florida Certification Board is required, though it may be obtained after hire.
• Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of required auto insurance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Successful completion of required background checks, FDLE clearance, and sexual predator screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and annual foster home assessments, interviews, and written home studies.
• Coordinate foster family licensing and annual renewals.
• Provide ongoing support through home visits, post-placement services, and crisis intervention.
• Facilitate pre-service training and coordinate additional training for foster families.
• Participate in foster parent orientations, family screening, and foster home recruitment.
• Collaborate with case management teams and community partners.
• Participate in on-call rotations, team meetings, and regular supervision.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or closely related field

Master’s degree in Social Work (preferred)
