Job Responsibilities
- Provide regular support and guidance to the social workers through weekly individual and monthly group supervisory meetings. Provide training for staff and current foster parents at least bi-monthly.
- Provide New Parent training to potential foster parents (quarterly)
- Take ultimate responsibility for ensuring that services are provided to each child in accordance with the written service plan
- Ensure that all appropriate case records and documentation are maintained in accordance with state regulations and agency policies and procedures
- Oversee and support the social worker as treatment team leader and share ultimate responsibility for team plans and decisions
- Participate in the placement process as a member of the admissions team
- Together with other professional staff, be on-call on a rotating basis to the social work staff on a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week basis
- Provide on-going clinical education to supervisees, including leading monthly clinical team meetings
- Conduct annual and probationary performance evaluations on staff
- Complete required supervisory task inclusive of but not limited to approving time sheets and leave request
- Complete all agencies required training for the position
- Support and facilitate relationships between foster and biological families
- Be a member of at least one agency committee (such as Retention, DEI, Risk Management, Engagement etc.) and engage in one community-based advocacy group such as MARFY or FFTA
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Required:
- Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in the State of Maryland with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university
- At least two years post graduate experience in a clinical setting and be State eligible to serve as a Social Work Supervisor
- Must be able to pass a CPS Background Check and CJIS MD and Federal Background Checks
- Maryland driver’s license (not provisional) with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Must be willing to carry a minimum of 100,000/300,000/25,000 auto insurance liability limit prior to employment
Preferred
- Experience working with youth and families
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Must have strong foundation of clinical skills
- Excellent oral communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database maintenance
- Must work effectively within a team environment
Working Conditions
- This position is both office and community based. Some travel throughout the Baltimore/Metropolitan area is required
- Some nights, evenings and weekends required
- Occasional mild physical demands
