Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to coordinate services for children and families, maintain required court and meeting attendance, and ensure clear communication among all parties involved. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and ongoing client support within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 60+ credits from an accredited college or university, and two years of full-time social work or human services experience
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to use a personal car to transport clients
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

Responsibilities

• Identify strengths, limitations, risk factors, and needs to coordinate services for the child, caregiver, and other participants.
• Maintain face-to-face contact with children and other parties as required by law and policy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with all parties and notify them of changes or requirements.
• Attend court dates, staffings, and meetings with required documentation.
• Provide information and accompany children to appointments as necessary.
• Transportation and supervision of children and participants, including those with medical/behavioral health needs.
• Offer mentoring, training, and crisis intervention to foster/parents and caregivers to ensure child safety and well-being.
• Provide documentation and recommendations within required timeframes.

What You Will Do

• Identify strengths, limitations, risk factors, and needs to refer and coordinate the provision of services to the child, primary caregiver, and other case participants.
• Maintain face‑to‑face contact with children and other parties as required according to state laws, funder requirements, and program policy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with all parties as required.
• Notify all parties and ensure attendance at court dates, staffings, and other required meetings with documentation required.
• Notify parents, caregivers, and other case participants of any changes in status, placement, medical/mental health treatment, etc., relative to the child.
• Provide information and accompany children to appointments, as necessary.
• Transportation and supervision of children and case participants, including individuals with medical and behavioral health needs.
• Provide, strengthen, and maintain a positive mentoring role by providing support, training, and crisis intervention to foster parents, birth parents, primary caregiver(s), and other team members involved in the case, to ensure child safety and well‑being
• Provide recommendations and documentation related to services rendered within required timeframes to case participants.
• Participate in on‑call rotation in accordance with agency policy and program procedure.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with established policies and federal and state statutes, as evidenced by obtaining required releases of information.

What You Will Need

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Related areas of study are: Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Special Education, Education, Human Development, Child Development, Family Development, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Nursing.
• Or an Associate's degree from an accredited college or 60+ college credits from an accredited college or university, and one of the following: Two (2) years of full‑time social work or human services experience
• Must have reliable transportation & ability to use personal car to transport clients. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance coverage.
