Job summary

Indiana Department of Child Services seeks a Foster Care Case Manager to improve foster care services through licensing, recruitment, and targeted family support. You will work with regional offices to expand local placement options, train relatives, and coordinate with Family Case Managers to ensure safe, permanent homes for children.

Responsibilities include assessing need, expediting licensure, and promoting stronger collaboration with foster families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or
• Associate's degree with two years of human services experience, or
• Thirty college credit hours with three years of human services job experience, or
• At least five years of human services job experience

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported incidents of child abuse, neglect, or dependency and determine substantiation and disposition.
• Assess risk to the child and decide on protective actions.
• Perform needs assessments to determine treatment options for families and children.
• Prepare reports and briefings for courts and teams; develop informal adjustment plans.
• Develop case plans to help families and children achieve self-sufficiency and safe permanency.
• Coordinate discharge/transition plans to sustain safety and stability.
• Monitor service providers to ensure alignment with the case plan.
• Accept on-call responsibilities as needed and conduct home studies for adoption.
• Visit children in placements to support reunification, adoption, or independent living.
