Methodist Home for Children in Greenville, NC is hiring a Foster Care Specialist to support children and foster families. The role involves managing caseloads, coordinating with schools, DSS, therapists, and providers, and advocating for reunification and permanency.

Starting at $45,000+ based on education and experience. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety, stability, and permanency for children, provide family-centered services, and participate in after-hours coverage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Two or more years of experience in child welfare, foster care, family preservation, case management, mental health, juvenile justice, or related human services work
• Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Providing case management and family-centered services to children and families
• Supporting foster parents through ongoing coaching, training, and advocacy
• Partnering with DSS, schools, therapists, medical providers, and court personnel
• Developing service plans and helping families work toward reunification and permanency goals
• Advocating for children's educational, medical, behavioral health, and developmental needs
• Maintaining timely documentation and compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements
• Participating in foster parent recruitment, training, and support efforts
• Providing after-hours support on a rotating basis, with team backup available
