Job summary

Deploy is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers, translating business ideas into engineering solutions and building robust API integrations.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering and Operations to deliver high-impact projects and drive positive customer outcomes from the frontlines in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• 1+ years of software engineering experience.
• Prior professional experience supporting technical customers and iterating solutions in real time.
• Strong programming background with Python, Javascript/Typescript, or similar, and API integrations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own the full end-to-end delivery of high-impact solutions for our most strategic partners.
• Efficiently resolve urgent technical customer support tickets; ensure proactive and timely communication with key client stakeholders.
• Drive innovation through coding and implementation to solve complex problems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and shape product roadmap.
• Build and maintain internal documentation, playbooks, and enablement content.
• Actively partner with customers to define success metrics, KPIs, and adoption strategies; track progress against metrics.
• Represent the voice of the customer and provide actionable feedback to influence product direction.
• Monitor usage, adoption, and engagement metrics to address risks and retention.
• Maintain awareness of data maintenance best practices related to the role.
• Adhere to policies and procedures for information asset protection.
• Report actual or suspected security/policy violations to appropriate authorities.

The Role

At Deploy, Forward Deployed Software Engineers utilize technical expertise of software engineering to directly tackle customer challenges and pain points. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for many of our enterprise customers, supporting them to achieve success with Deploy's API solutions and AI platforms. As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you will work alongside our customers to translate business and product ideas into engineering solutions, efficiently understand and resolve technical customer issues, and architect solutions that help improve the adoption of Deploy's products. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations, and build full-scale integrations to drive exceptional customer outcomes. This is a rare opportunity to work on the frontlines and directly execute high-impact projects for some of the largest enterprises.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, or a related technical field
• 1+ years of software engineering experience
• Prior professional experience supporting technical customers and iterating solutions in real time
• Strong engineering background with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Javascript/Typescript, or similar, and a deep understanding of software architecture and API integrations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail, with experience engaging both business and technical audiences
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

The current expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work; stock options may be offered in addition to the range provided here.
