Harrington Starr is partnering with an innovative financial technology firm to hire a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineering Lead. You will lead a client-facing engineering pod, combining technical delivery, team leadership and commercial ownership in a true player-coach role.

Remain close to technology and client engagements while helping shape delivery standards, processes and the growth of a newly established function, with high visibility and strong cross-functional collaboration in New York.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in financial services technology.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and/or Python, data platforms and cloud-native tech.
• Understanding of the full trade lifecycle across front, middle and back office.
• Proven experience delivering complex, client-facing technology projects.
• Previous technical leadership, mentoring and developing engineers.
• Experience with asset managers/owners/servicing is desirable.
• Interest in applying AI/LLM tooling to improve delivery and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a client-facing engineering pod, combining delivery, leadership and commercial ownership.
• Act as a hands-on contributor while shaping delivery standards and processes.
• Grow and mentor engineers in a newly established function.
• Maintain high client interaction and align delivery with business objectives.

They are looking to hire a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineering Lead to lead a client-facing engineering pod, combining technical delivery, team leadership and commercial ownership. This is a true player-coach role, where you will remain close to the technology and client engagements while helping shape delivery standards, processes and the growth of a newly established function.

Key Requirements:

• 7+ years' experience in financial services technology
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and/or Python, data platforms and cloud-native technology
• Strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle across front, middle and back office
• Proven experience delivering complex, client-facing technology projects
• Previous technical leadership experience, including mentoring and developing engineers
• Experience working with asset managers, asset owners or asset servicing organisations is highly desirable
• Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor
• Interest in applying AI and LLM tooling to improve engineering delivery and client outcomes
