Job summary

Dex seeks a forward-deployed AI engineer to own end-to-end deployments for major insurance carriers, from scoping to go-live, and to design multi-modal agentic AI systems. You will work hands-on with APIs, cloud platforms, and AI tooling while communicating outcomes to senior stakeholders.

You will act as the primary technical contact for clients, translating AI capabilities into business value and feeding insights into the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a forward-deployed, agent engineering, or founding role.
• Proven ability to ship production-grade Python code with APIs & cloud.

This seat is for founders and operators who want both the strategic client relationships and the deep technical execution.

The work

What You Bring

• 2+ years in a forward-deployed, agent engineering, or founding role, combining deep technical execution with client ownership.
• Proven ability to build and ship production-grade code in Python, with strong command of APIs, cloud platforms, and modern AI/ML tooling.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI concepts, leveraging AI-assisted development workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes for executive audiences.
• A founder's mindset: you own problems end-to-end, move with urgency, and are comfortable both coding and managing client relationships.
