Job summary

Crossing Hurdles seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to build agentic AI systems for U.S. Government missions. This full-time, remote role emphasizes delivering production-ready pipelines from prototype through scaling in high-security environments.

You will own Python-based ML infrastructure, design multi-agent systems with human-in-the-loop autonomy, and partner with government teams to translate mission needs into robust technical solutions, while maintaining reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python development with end-to-end ownership.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic systems.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines for ML.
• Ability to operate independently in partner-facing environments.

Compensation: $300K - $500K/yr

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

• Build and maintain large-scale data curation and evaluation pipelines for model training.
• Develop infrastructure for model inference, experimentation, evaluation, and deployment.

Requirements

• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, partner-facing settings with technical ownership.
• Strong Python engineering skills with end-to-end ownership experience.
• Experience with LLMs and creating agentic systems.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines or ML infrastructure.
• Comfortable in high-security and high-reliability environments.
