Job summary

LiveKit is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers building real-time communication and voice AI applications on the LiveKit platform. You will design architectures, build integrations, and help customers deploy and scale their LiveKit-based projects.

You will collaborate with product and engineering to improve developer experience, documentation, and tooling while contributing to LiveKit's open-source ecosystem when helpful.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++
• Experience with real-time systems or developer platforms

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time applications with customer engineering teams.
• Build prototype integrations and reference implementations to accelerate customer development.
• Navigate SDKs, APIs, and deployment strategies for production systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions with developers and product teams.
• Translate customer needs into technical insights for product and platform development.
