Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity.

You’ll help modernize enterprise infrastructure by building scalable automation and platform engineering solutions across areas like network, compute, storage, cloud, and identity. You’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to reduce technical debt, improve reliability, and accelerate infrastructure delivery through software-driven automation.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on development skills with Java and Python.
• Experience building Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Experience with configuration management and automation using Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and systems integration via APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop infrastructure automation solutions using modern software engineering practices.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management to standardize provisioning and operations.
• Develop APIs and integrations to connect infrastructure systems and enable automated workflows.
