Detailed Job Description:

As a Forward Deployed Engineer - Data Engineering & GenAI supporting Aivantai Inc. on a hybrid schedule across the Washington, DC Metro Area (expected onsite at customer facilities 2 to 3 days per week), you will take full operational, architectural, and tactical ownership of client-facing technical delivery, data pipeline implementation, and generative AI integration. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing robust data engineering pipelines, deploying large language models and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, collaborating directly with stakeholder teams, and translating complex customer challenges into scalable technical solutions. You will operate in a dynamic, high-visibility environment while partnering closely with executive leadership and engineering squads. Furthermore, you will manage application requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and deploy robust data engineering pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and distributed ETL frameworks for client environments.
• Spearhead the implementation and operationalization of Generative AI models, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Serve as the principal technical face of the company during customer-facing deployments at client sites across the Washington, DC Metro Area.
• Translate complex operational customer requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance technical software deliverables.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional software engineering, data science, and product management squads to accelerate AI integration.
• Optimize data processing throughput, model inference latency, and cloud infrastructure resource utilization.
• Establish rigorous technical standards, code quality benchmarks, automated testing, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, client architecture blueprints, deployment runbooks, and project status reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 to 14 years of progressive principal-level professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or advanced technology consulting.
• Strong, demonstrable hands-on professional expertise in data engineering fundamentals, distributed systems, and modern software development.
• Comprehensive working knowledge and practical proficiency in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), vector databases, and prompt engineering.
