Job summary

Stealth Startup in San Francisco is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering and customer success for our AI developer platform.

You’ll partner directly with customer engineering teams to understand their workflows, integrate the product, troubleshoot real-world environments, and translate customer feedback into product improvements. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role.

About the Role

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering and customer success for our AI developer platform.

You’ll partner directly with customer engineering teams to understand their workflows, integrate and configure the product, troubleshoot issues in real-world environments, and turn customer feedback into product improvements.

This is a hands‑on technical role for someone who enjoys building alongside customers—not simply supporting them after deployment.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with engineering teams to onboard and integrate the AI coding platform into their codebases and workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including repository-specific edge cases and CI/testing integration problems.
• Build custom scripts, configurations, and lightweight tooling that help customers get value from the product faster.
• Serve as the technical voice of the customer by sharing real-world usage patterns, blockers, and feature requests with the product and engineering teams.
• Lead technical demos and proof-of-concept implementations for prospective customers.
• Develop best practices and playbooks for successful customer adoption.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong software engineering background with the ability to understand unfamiliar codebases across multiple languages and frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and modern developer tools.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Self‑directed with the ability to own problems from start to finish.
• Previous experience in a customer‑facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Technical Customer Success, etc.) is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools or LLM‑based developer products is a plus.
