Job summary

Allegiance Group is building Forward Deployed Engineers into the core of the company, with founders who have built and sold a govtech business and a strong runway for scale. You’ll join a small team reporting to a former head of a major FDE org, shaping how the function works, and you’ll sit with government stakeholders to deliver what they truly need.

You’ll fight through complex problems, prove capability with end-to-end builds, and demonstrate architecture, data, and infra ownership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Deep expertise with TypeScript in professional settings.
• Familiarity with Vue.js and the Elysia framework.
• Experience with infrastructure: Postgres, Caddy, Tailscale, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Working with key stakeholders and customers across the federal government.
• Identifying key workflows or opportunities for automation.
• Prototyping, iterating, and delivering AI solutions directly to customers.
• Improving and expanding our core product offering.

I'm working with an AI company built to break that model.

Founders who've built and sold a govtech company before. A substantial raise earlier this year, barely touched, long runway, closing out a strong fiscal year - this is a "hiring to scale" moment, not a "hope we raise again" one.

They're building Forward Deployed Engineers into the core of the company.

Small team. You'd report into someone who ran a major FDE org, and you're shaping how the function works from here. Sit with government stakeholders, build what they actually need, ship it, and feed what you learn straight back into the product.

Here's what gets people through the process:

Not pedigree. Proof of capability. Something you built and shipped end to end - architecture, data, infra, all of it. Side-project energy, self-taught builders, people who've decomposed a hard problem and actually solved it. You also need to hold a room - it's how you think and how you present, not just what you know.

Of course, there are some requirements for this opportunity:

• 2+ years of experience in software roles
• Deep expertise with TypeScript in professional settings
• Familiarity with common frameworks: Vue.js, Elysia, etc.
• Experience with infrastructure: Postgres, Caddy, Tailscale, Kubernetes, etc.

Non-negotiables: US citizen, based in the US, eligible for security clearance.

Comp: up to $220k base (higher for the right person). Mostly remote, occasional travel.
