Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a forward-deployed engineer to lead customer deployments of AI-powered claims solutions for insurers. You will own engagements from scoping to launch and influence product development with real-world usage insights.

You will deploy multimodal AI systems, integrate with client APIs, and collaborate with the platform team to standardize deployment practices. Strong communication and adaptability in a fast-moving environment are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of forward-deployed or customer-facing engineering experience.
• Experience deploying multimodal or agentic AI systems.
• Hands-on integration into client environments via APIs.
• Working knowledge of Python, APIs, cloud platforms, LLMs, and agentic AI concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex tech in business terms.
• Comfort in fast-moving, unstructured environments.

About the Role

Join a growing forward-deployed engineering team building AI-powered claims solutions for the insurance sector. You will lead customer deployments from initial scoping through launch, while shaping product development with insights from real-world use.

What You'll Do

• Deploy multimodal and agentic AI systems into production for client stakeholders.
• Own customer engagements end to end, serving as the primary technical contact from scoping through go-live.
• Build trusted relationships with client teams, understand their challenges, and align delivery with business priorities.
• Design and improve AI agents using prompt engineering, model integrations, and rapid prototyping.
• Scope and build product features that help customers scale and improve claims outcomes.
• Integrate the product into client environments by working directly with their technical teams on APIs and systems.
• Coordinate with the core platform team and document deployment practices to improve future delivery.

What We're Looking For

• At least 2 years of experience in forward-deployed or customer-facing engineering, as a founder or founding engineer, or as a software engineer seeking customer-facing work.
• Experience deploying multimodal or agentic AI systems into production.
• Hands-on experience integrating systems or products into client environments, including APIs and client systems.
• Working knowledge of Python, APIs, cloud platforms, LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas in terms of business outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Sound judgment, a pragmatic approach, and comfort working in a fast-moving, unstructured environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $165,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
