Job description

We've automated 10M+ labor hours inside government systems. Now we're doing it for healthcare.

Our product Mimic builds digital replica employees: agents that watch a person do their job for a few weeks, learn the logic behind it, then run that job themselves inside the same software the person used. Founding team is military-trained engineers, formerly of MIT and Amazon

The Role

We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to operate like a startup CTO embedded inside our biggest customer accounts.

Here's what's true: our agents are already live inside production EHR and enterprise systems , automating real admin work for real health systems. The model works. What we don't have is someone dedicated to finding the highest-value broken process inside each account, scoping it, building it, and shipping it to production without anyone else in the loop.

What makes this role different:
  • You're not inheriting a scoped backlog. You find the process worth automating and you make the call.
  • You write production code and own what happens after it ships. This isn't prototype-and-handoff.
  • What you learn in the field goes straight back into the product. You're informing what gets built next, not just deploying what already exists.
What You'll Own
  • Full account pipeline. From first conversation with a customer stakeholder to a scoped, prioritized list of processes worth automating.
  • Production delivery. You build the agent, ship it live, and you're the one who answers for it when it breaks.
  • The relationship on the ground. You run customer sessions independently, gather the evidence, and translate it into what the product team should build next.
Problems to Solve

There's no dedicated owner in the field. That becomes YOU.

Broken processes hide in plain sight. Health system admin work is dense and inconsistent from account to account. Nobody's systematically mapped out where the highest-value automation opportunities are inside a given account. You find them.

Deployments stall without someone driving. Getting an agent into a live EHR process means navigating IT, security, and clinical stakeholders who all move at different speeds. You're the one who keeps it moving.

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
  • Full pipeline scoped within 30 days
  • First thing live in production within 30 days
  • 3+ live in production by day 90
  • Running customer sessions independently by day 60
  • $2M+ in verified annualized impact by month 6
Who You Are

Customer-facing and technical. You've owned a customer-facing technical deployment start to finish, not handed it off after the demo. This is unlikely to be a good fit if you've only worked pre-sales or only worked backend with no direct customer exposure.

A builder, not a debater. You'd rather be on-site solving the problem than arguing about it in a backlog meeting. This is unlikely to be a good fit if you need a fully scoped ticket before you can start.

Comfortable with ambiguity. Every account looks different. You diagnose what's actually broken instead of forcing a playbook from your last job. This is unlikely to be a good fit if you need a template to follow.

Fast and accountable. You ship, you own the outcome, and you don't wait for someone else to notice something stalled.

This Role Is NOT
  • A prototype-and-handoff job. You own what ships.
  • A pre-sales or solutions-engineering seat. You write and ship production code.
  • A backlog-driven role. You find the work, you don't wait for it to be assigned.
Compensation
  • Cash: $150,000–$225,000 based on qualifications
  • Equity: up to 0.5%
  • Health: Medical and dental benefits
  • PTO: flexible, but lets be real you arent working with a startup for its PTO benefits
