Qualifications

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will contribute to the development and deployment of software capabilities that improve the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of critical energy infrastructure. You will work directly with utility stakeholders, operational users, and engineering teams to deliver, deploy, and sustain mission-critical solutions that support real-world operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ontology-driven applications that support operations and critical utility decision-making.
• Develop and enhance operational applications, dashboards, workflows, and automated actions used by field teams, customer operations, and executive leadership.
• Design and maintain enterprise ontology models, including objects, relationships, and business logic that support a range of operational use cases.
• Build and maintain data pipelines integrating information from ERP, outage management, GIS, weather, customer, and operational systems.
• Provide production support during critical operational events, including incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Participate in operational readiness exercises, tabletop simulations, system testing, and production support activities.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex operational requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Support software deployments, release management, testing coordination, environment governance, and production promotion processes.

Qualifications

• Experience building data-intensive applications, analytics platforms, or enterprise software solutions.
• 3+ years of software engineering or system integration experience.
• Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, Java, or similar programming languages.
• Experience designing enterprise ontologies and governing reusable data models across multiple applications .
• Experience supporting utilities operations, public safety operations, or regulatory reporting environments is preferred.
• Ability to independently develop, test, and deploy production-quality software.
• Comfortable working in small, fast-paced, cross-functional engineering teams.
