Job summary

EY is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Advanced Forward Engineering (AFE) team. You will embed with client teams to ensure data is accessible, governed, and production-ready for AI solutions in regulated environments.

In the forward-deployed setup, you’ll collaborate with delivery engineers and client stakeholders to translate complex data landscapes into dependable, compliant data interfaces and patterns across dev, test, pre-prod, and prod environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering experience.
• Hands-on data pipelines design, build, and operations in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of data modeling, transformation frameworks, and API-based access.
• Ability to operate under data governance, security, or compliance constraints.
• Collaborate closely with application engineers in delivery-focused teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as data owner in an AFE pod, ensuring data readiness to support delivery outcomes.
• Design data ingestion, transformation, and access patterns for AI systems with client data.
• Ensure pipelines comply with governance, security, lineage, and access control in regulated environments.
• Implement data interfaces and contracts for DS data requirements in deployment templates.
• Partner with Forward Deployed Software Engineers to enable AI workflows and analytics.
• Diagnose data quality, schema drift, and integration issues in production scenarios.
• Contribute reusable data patterns to improve repeatability across pods.
• Support validation, testing, and deployment to ensure data flows across environments.
