Job summary

EY is seeking a Data Engineer for the Advanced Forward Engineering (AFE) team within the Office of the CTO. The role embeds with client delivery pods to ensure data is accessible, governed, and production-ready for AI deployments in regulated environments.

You will work with delivery engineers to integrate enterprise AI systems with legacy data sources. The position emphasizes data ownership, scalable pipelines, and governance in real-world settings, with a hybrid client-facing delivery model

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5+ years of data engineering or analytics experience.
• Hands-on data pipelines in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of data modeling and API-based data access.
• Experience with governance, security, or compliance constraints.
• Ability to collaborate with application engineers in delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the data owner in an AFE pod to ensure data readiness.
• Design ingestion, transformation, and access patterns for AI systems.
• Ensure pipelines meet governance, security, lineage, and access controls.
• Implement data interfaces following DS deployment templates.
• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Software Engineers to enable AI workflows.
• Diagnose data quality, schema drift, and integration issues.
• Share reusable data patterns back to the integration core.
• Support validation, testing, and deployment across environments.
