Job summary

Oracle Government Defense & Intelligence is seeking a Principal/Master Principal Cloud Architect – Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to embed full-time with a single U.S. Intelligence Community customer.

You will design, deploy, secure, and operate OCI-based cloud solutions addressing national security challenges. The role requires hands-on cloud engineering, Terraform/OCI tooling, and strong leadership to deliver secure, production-ready environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in U.S. Intelligence Community environments.
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Poly.
• Hands-on cloud engineering and infrastructure experience.
• Experience deploying and operating solutions inside customer environments.
• Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, automation, and platform operations.
• Experience designing secure, highly available, scalable environments.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible.
• Scripting in Python or Shell.
• Strong communication across technical and executive audiences.
• Willingness to work on-site with customers for extended engagements.
• Minimum of 6+ years in cloud/infrastructure.
• Ability to lead customer deployments from architecture through production.
• Owns delivery outcomes for assigned engagements.

Responsibilities

• Embed full‑time with a dedicated Intelligence Community customer.
• Architect and deploy OCI‑based solutions within customer environments.
• Translate mission requirements into scalable cloud architectures.
• Build and configure infrastructure across OCI IaaS and PaaS.
• Design secure, resilient production environments.
• Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation frameworks.
• Configure networking, IAM, security, observability, storage, databases.
• Harden pilots into production systems and drive reliability.
• Lead troubleshooting and performance optimization efforts.
• Collaborate with customer operators, engineers, and leadership.
• Capture learnings to influence future Oracle product directions.
