Job summary

Perplexity is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to ensure customers maximize their Perplexity Computer deployments. This customer-embedded, hands-on role sits at the intersection of engineering, solutions architecture, and technical program management.

You will embed with strategic customers, design and prototype workflows, own the engagement end-to-end, and work with Sales and Customer Success to expand opportunities, delivering measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a customer-embedded technical role or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to communicate with executives and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI-native workflows, LLMs, agents, or related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Embed with strategic customers on time-boxed engagements (1–3 months) with clear scope and exit criteria.
• Design and build the workflow with hands-on implementation and prototyping in the customer environment.
• Own the customer relationship throughout the engagement, managing expectations and de-risking deployment.
• Turn engagements into reusable artifacts (skills, connectors, workflow templates) for future customers.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success on scoping, validation, and expansion.
