Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Lead Field Development Engineer to embed with strategic institutional partners and drive production-grade AI deployments across MindTap, WebAssign, and Cengage Unlimited. You will design institutional configurations and champion LTI integrations to scale adoption of AI-powered learning solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems.
• 3+ years in a customer-embedded or field-facing engineering role with deployment ownership.
• Strong full-stack engineering skills (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST/GraphQL).
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based production apps, including RAG pipelines and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with LMS integration standards like LTI 1.3 / LTI Advantage and data-privacy standards (FERPA, COPPA).

Responsibilities

• Embed with 3–5 strategic institutional accounts to understand workflows and data environments.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of MindTap AI, WebAssign, Cengage Unlimited, and custom GenAI integrations from discovery to launch.
• Design institution-specific configurations including adaptive learning paths and RAG-backed assistants.
• Drive LTI integrations and data flows between Cengage platforms and major LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, Moodle).
