Job summary

Bachoco USA in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Automation Technician for the Further Processing line. The role focuses on preserving, repairing, and maintaining computer-controlled systems and robotics to maximize efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of plant maintenance experience, plus training in industrial electricity and instrumentation with PLCs. Relocation assistance is available for this safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications

• Over 1 year of maintenance/automation experience in a plant setting.
• 3 years industrial electricity experience; 3 years instrumentation and programmable controllers; 2 years electrical/electronic training or apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Check and monitor critical control points; correct deviations.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance of electrical, electronic and control equipment.
• Oversee electrical, electronic and control projects with contractors; advise Engineering on new tech and sanitary design.
• Perform corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Maintain substation preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Ensure electrical panel organization aligns with food-safety standards.
• Manage power distribution; schedule MCC and transformer PMs.
• Maintain panel documents and schematics.
• Install, maintain, replace automation systems at key production points.
• Troubleshoot servos, sensors, and control components.
• Log usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance.
• Report automation status to leadership.
