Job summary

VetJobs seeks a Maintenance Mechanic for a Ft. Smith, AR plant. The role requires 3 years’ experience in maintenance of production machinery, reading blueprints, and adherence to safety rules. You will maintain and troubleshoot process equipment and support PLC/instrumentation systems.

The position involves 12-hour shifts, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in heat. A High School diploma or GED is required; Industrial Technology degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in maintenance of production machinery.
• Basic knowledge of extrusion, vacuum systems, material transfer, air systems, and preventive maintenance.
• Read and understand blueprints.
• High School or GED required; degree in Industrial technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot process/plant equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, forklifts, oilers, and filters.
• Repair and troubleshoot 3 phase 480v.
• Repair process controls – PLC & instrumentation.
• Read blueprints and support tooling tasks.
• Operate powered industrial trucks and lifts.
• Setup drums and tooling during changeovers.
• Work 12 hour shifts on concrete and lift up to 40 pounds.
