Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an experienced carpenter to construct, erect, install, and repair wooden structures per drawings and instructions.

You will interpret blueprints, measure and cut materials, and assemble forms for concrete work on diverse projects nationwide. We value safety, efficiency, and quality, with duties spanning scaffolding, framing, sheathing, and coordination with formwork crews.

Qualifications

• Blueprints and specifications guide dimensioning.
• Ability to measure and mark cutting lines accurately.
• Proficiency with basic carpentry hand tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Examine blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure.
• Measure boards, timbers, or plywood, mark cutting lines.
• Saw boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
• Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, wrenches, saws, drills.
• Nail cleats across boards to construct concrete-supporting forms.
• Brace forms for piers, footings, and walls.
• Erect chutes for placing concrete.
• Cut and assemble timbers for trestles and cofferdams.
• Erect scaffolding, ladders, handrails, platforms, and gangways.
• Potentially install door/window bucks in building framework.
• Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs.
• Set and brace anchor bolts.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Other duties may be assigned.
