Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a production operator to formulate raw materials into finished products and move materials through the line. You will operate formulation equipment, perform on-line maintenance, and ensure safety and quality throughout production.

The role requires the ability to work rotating shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow strict QC documentation and data entry procedures.

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of production/manufacturing experience.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Under supervision, performs various tasks associated with the formulation and movement of product, raw materials, and other commodities. Operates formulation equipment in the production operation in order to maximize the output of the production line and performs on-line maintenance of all production equipment. Performs work in a safe, responsible manner by following all safety rules and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulates raw materials into finished product that conforms to all quality control standards and completes production sheets accurately.
• Performs system clean-outs and product changeover between production campaigns.
• May lead packaging crews or direct temporary staff.
• Must be able to maintain a very clean work environment and have a strong grasp of plant and production safety.
• Ensure accurate recording of all personnel assigned to batches or activities using Kronos to accurately track labor hours for job costing.
• Mixes chemicals in batches using computerized process control systems.
• Pulls raw material and finished product samples as requested.
• Verifies proper raw materials are put in according to formulas and minimizes waste.
• Participates in inventory counts.
• Handles and labels hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements and policy.
• Properly packages and identifies waste and flush in accordance with regulatory requirements and policy.
• Operates forklifts, hoists and/or other material handling equipment in the warehouse and production area to retrieve and deliver raw materials, packaging, and finished products to and from the warehouse.
• Moves operating, formulation and packaging equipment. Completes all production paperwork, batch sheets, and QC control paperwork, including data entry into various computer systems in a timely and accurate manner. Must be able to comply with all specified QC control methods and documentation.
• May load/unload trucks received at dock as needed and complete related reports.
• Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED and one year production/manufacturing experience.

OTHER SKILL AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to use various types of packaging machinery to perform all functions on the packaging line.
• Reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to work varying/rotating shifts.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in extreme hot and/or cold temperatures.
• Lift truck operator certification.
• Must be available to work over 40 hours as needed.
• Must be capable of passing an OSHA respirator physical.
