Job summary

Johnsonville Formulation Operator (Part Time, 1st Shift) in Riverside is responsible for blending processes, equipment setup, and SAP documentation. The role supports high-quality sausage production with safety, yields, and efficiency focus.

Expect a 4:30am–10:30am schedule, about 29 hours/week, and a pay range of $28.57–$29.95 per hour. Willingness to learn basic computer skills and maintain GMPs is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
• Must obtain forklift license and maintain safe driving record.
• Willing to work extended hours including weekends.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Proficient in English as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Setup, run, rotate positions, teardown, and inspection of equipment in your area (grinders & blenders).
• Complete hot water washes on all equipment in formulation following safety lockout/tagout.
• Take ownership for daily SAP documentation of products/supplies (scanning, counting, documenting quantities).
• Operate all other equipment within the department.
• Manage meat inventory effectively (meat age).
• Perform Fat Analysis offline.
• Reconcile supply inventories after daily production.

Formulation Operator Part Time 1st Shift (Finance)

Position Facility: Riverside

Position Overview

Pay Range: $28.57/hr - $29.95/hr
Hours: 4:30am - 10:30am; Monday-Friday (On average 29 hours per week).

As a Johnsonville Formulation Operator, you get the opportunity to think pro-actively and understand how formulation affects plant flow. Work together with other Formulation Members to obtain World Class blending results in safety, yields, usages, and efficiencies. Consistently manufacture "great tasting" sausage products according to specifications. Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire "superlative" performance to support the Johnsonville Way. Grow, develop, and stretch yourself by continuing to find new and better ways to meet your commitments to yourself, your team and to JVL. All of this is to ensure consumers always get a great tasting/performing product for their families.

• Setup, run, rotate positions, teardown, and inspection of equipment in your area such as grinders & blenders.
• Include completing hot water washes on all equipment in formulation by following proper safety lock out tag out procedures.
• Take ownership for daily accurate SAP documentation of products/supplies (including scanning, counting to verify materials, and document quantities).
• Operate all other equipment within the department.
• Able to effectively manage meat inventory (i.e. meat age).
• Able to effectively do Fat Analysis offline.
• Reconcile supply inventories after daily production.

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong math background is required.
• Complete production documentation paperwork accurately.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
• Must be able to set up all grinders independently after proper training.
• Must be able to identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to push/pull containers filled with product/spice/liquids.
• Must be willing to learn basic computer skills such as (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Must have a very keen eye for visual inspection purposes.
• Having the ability to perform an accurate daily inventory on rework.
• Ability to learn and accurately perform all the SAP transactions associated with position.
• Willing to work in cold conditions.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license and keep safe driving record.
• Willingness to work extended hours including weekends.
• Based on business necessity, must be proficient in English.

Other Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
