Job summary

Nichiha in Macon, GA is seeking a Forming Operator to support the manufacturing line and ensure safe, efficient operation of forming equipment. You will adjust sensors, maintain cleanliness of belts and pits, and participate in safe disposal of waste while adhering to plant procedures.

The role requires learning control systems and basic troubleshooting of equipment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety practices in a noisy, dusty plant environment.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety procedures and wear PPE when required.
• Comfortable working in a dusty/noisy plant environment.
• Able to operate and troubleshoot basic forming equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adjust sensors to ensure proper operation.
• Clean conveyor belts, line rollers, forming pit, trenches and equipment.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
• Clean forming and press area as needed.

Job description

The following lists the principle activities associated with the position of Forming Operator.

• Adjust sensors to ensure proper operation
• Clean conveyor belts, line rollers, forming pit, trenches and other equipment.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
• Clean forming and press area as needed.
• Learn Control Systems of various equipment to be able to operate and troubleshoot when required.

SAFETY:

• Understand and follow all safety procedures
  • Current on all safety trainings
  • Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs)
• Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas.
• Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures
• Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.
• Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
• Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.
• Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
