Job summary

Nichiha in the United States manufactures building materials and seeks a Forming Operator to join its manufacturing team. You will monitor equipment, adjust sensors, and ensure smooth line operation, while following safety procedures.

In this hands-on role you will clean conveyors and forming areas, handle waste properly, and learn control systems to troubleshoot equipment as needed. The position requires reliability, teamwork, and adherence to OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Understand and follow all safety procedures.
  • Current on all safety trainings.
  • Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs).
  • Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas.
  • Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.

Job description

The following lists the principal activities associated with the position of Forming Operator.

  • Adjust sensors to ensure proper operation
  • Clean conveyor belts, line rollers, forming pit, trenches and other equipment.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
  • Clean forming and press area as needed.
  • Learn Control Systems of various equipment to be able to operate and troubleshoot when required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.
  • Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
