About the Role

Trojan Battery Company is looking for a committed and thorough person for the Formation I Operator role. (3rd shift) The Formation Operator will perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects and will be responsible for on/off bearing batteries from the production line, filling batteries with acid to the proper level, and correctly applying caps on the batteries according to battery type. The role requires wearing all required PPE, including a respirator.

Shift Details

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Place caps on batteries
• Understand polarity of batteries
• Fill batteries with correct levels of acid
• Identify the correct cables for batteries
• Use hand tools and specific machine controls, gauges, etc.
• Work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant
• Operate safely under extreme temperatures and heavy environment conditions
• Strong team skills and problem solving with recommendations

Physical Requirements

• Must be clean shaven
• Must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site
• Must lift 50‑80 lbs. and stand for long periods

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or greater required.
• 2‑3 years’ manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work history.
• Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
