Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced tailoring professional to alter formalwear and manage fittings from home-based work. You will handle suits, gowns, dresses, and other eventwear, taking precise measurements and communicating timelines to clients.
Responsibilities include delivering high-quality finishing, maintaining an organized workspace, and growing your client base through the platform. This independent contractor role offers flexible scheduling with local client requests
Qualifications
- Experience with formalwear alterations or tailoring.
- Strong garment construction knowledge with precision measuring.
- Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
- Professional communication and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Alter suits, tuxedos, dress pants, and jackets with hems, tapering, shoulders, waist, and sleeves.
- Work with women's formalwear including gowns, cocktail dresses, and bridesmaid dresses; ensure proper fit.
- Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and clearly communicate timelines.
- Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings; handle wedding and special event garments as needed.
