Job summary

Harmonic seeks a Formal Verification Engineer to verify hardware and software with Aristotle, our formal reasoning agent. You will scope requirements with customers, define properties, run formal proofs, and deliver reproducible workflows, feeding insights back to product and research.

You should be a rigorous problem-solver with expertise in formal verification and the ability to adapt to customer needs, helping expand Aristotle’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience in hardware verification, software verification, or interactive theorem proving.
• Ability to independently navigate complex concepts, manage risks and deadlines.
• Proficiency with at least one proof assistant (Lean/Coq/Isabelle/Agda).
• Proficiency in Python, C++, MATLAB, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Translate design intent into precise properties for Aristotle proofs.
• Manage project scope and technical risk with clear customer communication.
• Develop technical understanding of production-ready code across domains.
• Identify critical properties and translate requirements into formal specs.
• Collaborate with product team to improve Aristotle based on field observations.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.
