Alignerr seeks a Mathematical Formalization Specialist with hands-on Lean experience to translate informal proofs into machine-checked formalizations and push the boundaries of automated reasoning. This fully remote, hourly contract role invites mathematicians to shape AI reasoning and verification at the frontier of machine-verifiable mathematics.

You will collaborate with researchers, develop readable Lean scripts, test formalizations across domains, and contribute to future-proof verification

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Logic, or related field.
• Strong proof-writing foundation across algebra, analysis, topology, logic, or discrete math.
• Hands-on experience with Lean (Lean 3 or Lean 4); Coq/Isabelle/Agda also valued.

Responsibilities

• Translate informal proofs into Lean and related proof assistants with emphasis on clarity and correctness.
• Analyze proofs across domains to identify gaps and formalizable sub-structures.
• Create formalizations that test limits of proof assistants where automation struggles.
• Collaborate to design strategies for improving formal verification pipelines.
• Develop readable, reproducible proof scripts aligned with best practices and idioms.
• Guide proof decomposition, lemma selection, and formal model structuring.
• Investigate where automated provers fail and explain why.
