Job summary

MasTec Industrial is hiring a Form Carpenter Foreman to lead form setting and finishing for concrete structures on industrial projects. The role requires overseeing crews, ensuring safe, quality work, and coordinating with foremen to meet project specs.

The position is full-time with 50 hours per week, travel up to 90%, and a comprehensive benefits package. A NCCER certification is preferred, plus at least two years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NCCER Certification/License (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret measuring tools such as tape measure and framing square to perform tasks accurately.
  • Assist in setting and placement of forms to proper elevations and locations; prepare the base and install reinforcing.
  • Experience in setting and erecting forms using various materials and forming systems for vertical/horizontal concrete forming.
  • Assist in concrete finishing and form removal as directed.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials required, or hazards noted.

Position Summary

Form Carpenter Foreman are required to perform a variety of tasks including erecting and setting forms for vertical and horizontal concrete structures and site work, per specifications and drawings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Read and interpret measuring tools such as tape measure, speed square, framing square, etc., to perform tasks accurately.
  • Fully understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.
  • Assist in setting and placement of forms to proper elevations and locations; prepare the base and install proper reinforcing.
  • Experience and/or exposure in setting and erecting forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems for vertical and horizontal concrete forming.
  • Assist in the marking, cutting, and assembly lines on materials. Assist in shaping materials to prescribed measurements and assemble, fasten with nails, dowel pins or glue.
  • Able to assist in general carpentry tasks, such as building and installing barricades, decks, shelves, and other site needs as required.
  • Be able to assist in placing/tying rebar.
  • Be able to assist in placing and finishing concrete.
  • Assist in disassembling, removing, and cleaning form materials.
  • Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Take direction from higher skilled workers or foremen.
  • Must have basic knowledge of construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
  • Support project with other tasks as directed by supervision.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials required, or hazards noted.
  • Ability to work different shifts and overtime as required; work under production schedule pressure.
  • Attain set standards of accuracy; perform duties in a safe manner.
Supervisory
  • Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
  • On-site participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Follow all state, company, client, OSHA, and federal guidelines regarding health and safety.
  • Maintain good housekeeping by cleaning up the work area and jobsite after each task.
Physical Demands
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • Maintain physical strength and stamina; use arms, hands, and legs; push, pull, and lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb as needed.
  • Stamina to perform tasks repetitively for several hour intervals.
  • Exposure to changing weather and site conditions.
  • Moderate exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, and loud noises.
  • Ability to wear PPE (safety-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas; work at heights with fall protection as required.
  • Visual and auditory acuity; depth perception and hand-eye coordination.
Hours

This position is Full-Time, typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to project requirements.

Travel

Travel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the project site with intermittent travel to residence of record.
