Job summary

MasTec's Clean Energy & Infrastructure group is hiring a Laborer - Warehouse in Mountain Home, Idaho. You will perform physical labor on construction sites, operate hand and power tools, prepare sites, dig trenches, and assist other craft workers on diverse projects.

This full-time role requires safety awareness, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to travel up to 90% to job sites. Schedule is typically 50 hours per week, with compensation shown at $23 per hour and a comprehensive

Qualifications

  • 0–6 months related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs.
  • Active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform basic arithmetic and unit conversions for weight and volume measurements.
  • Understand and follow written or oral instructions.
  • Maintain precision and follow established standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Perform a variety of functions such as digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel with a pick or shovel.
  • Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
  • Mix, pour, and place concrete, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
  • Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe.
  • Perform routine non‑machine tasks such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with caulking, and rebar placement.
  • Conduct general cleanup and demolition, use cutting torch, jackhammers, and place culvert or pipe sections in trench.
  • Spend time on one job or may be transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion.
  • Travel to different jobsites on limited notice.
  • Maintain an appropriate appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.

Position Summary

Responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor on building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites. Operate hand and power tools of all types, clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, and assist other craft workers.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • 0–6 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project‐specific regulations.
  • Active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform basic arithmetic and unit conversions for weight and volume measurements.
  • Understand and follow written or oral instructions.
  • Maintain precision and follow established standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Work up to a 12‑hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive and continuous tasks for several hour intervals.
  • Work in uncontrolled environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (safety‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
  • Work at heights and comply with safety and fall‑protection requirements.
  • Evaluate information based on measurable standards and recognize slight differences in shapes and shading.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.
  • Maintain balance and visual and hearing acuity.
  • Coordinate eye, hand, and foot use.
Hours

This position is a full‑time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to project requirements.

Travel

Travel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the project site location with intermittent travel to residence of record.
