Job summary

Dunn Building Company is seeking a skilled rough carpenter to construct concrete forms and temporary structures. The role involves measuring materials, cutting boards, and assembling formwork for piers, walls, and foundations, along with erecting scaffolding and installing doors, windows, and other framing components.

You will work on projects across Alabama and the Southeast, in a team setting with opportunities for advancement and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in rough carpentry and formwork preferred.
• Ability to read simple dimensions and mark cutting lines.
• Familiarity with erecting scaffolding and installing frames.

Responsibilities

• Examines specifications to determine dimensions of structures.
• Measures boards, timbers, or plywood, and marks cutting lines.
• Saws boards and plywood to required sizes.
• Nails cleats across boards to construct concrete-forming frames.
• Braces forms in place for concrete piers and walls.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders, handrails, and walkways.
• Installs door and window bucks in building frames.
• Builds falsework to strengthen buildings during construction.
