Job summary

Standard Holding Corporation in Garland, TX is seeking a dedicated forklift operator/yard hostler to move packages and materials within our facilities. The role includes loading/unloading trailers, yard movements, and ensuring safety and accuracy in daily operations.

The position requires 1–2 years of forklift experience, 1 year hostler experience, a good grasp of shipping practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. CDL-A is preferred; English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• One to two years of forklift operator experience or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-year hostler experience.
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
• Sit-down propane forklift experience is a plus.
• Operate yard truck in a safe manner.
• Drive and operate a vehicle under 15 mph in and around facility.
• Safe truck and trailer operating skills are required.
• Experience backing 53-foot trailers.
• CDL-A is preferred; verifiable experience will be considered.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Safely unload materials and merchandise from incoming trailers and load them to outbound trailers.
• Performs required administrative tasks for inbound unloading and outbound loading.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Inspect forklift to determine repair needs and note defects on pre-shift form.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facilities.
• Ensure freight is counted and loaded in the right DC trailer.
• Secure freight for transit.
• Move and spot trailers to support warehouse operations.
• Communicate with Inbound/Outbound leads on trailer move prioritization.
• Document and perform trailer moves on Inbound/Outbound operations.
• Conduct yard checks for Inbound/Outbound.
• Ensure seals are on applicable trailers and track inspections.
• Maintain grounds cleanliness.
• Assist carriers with yard guidance and instructions.
• Verify and report damages.
• Work daily with facility personnel and follow safety requirements.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Perform other duties as required.
