Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a forklift operator for the North Platte, NE facility. This on-site role supports transporting product and materials across the manufacturing floor with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

You will perform pre-shift forklift inspections, operate the forklift throughout shifts, and adapt to extended hours or overtime as needed to meet production goals. Expect a physically demanding environment with standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Pay

The hourly pay rate range for this position is 24.64 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to North Platte and may not be applicable to other locations.

What Your Day in This Role Might Involve at OC-North Platte

Overview.

To adequately and efficiently transport product, raw materials, etc. from location to location within the manufacturing facility. Ensure all product is transported in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently empty trash throughout the plant multiple times per day
• Sawdust
• Coordinate sawdust removal and trash removal with outside companies
• Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
• Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation
• Must be able to work extended hours and overtime as needed if business need requires
• Replace pallets/runners as necessary to maintain a safe working environment
• Will also perform other related duties as assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the job description
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Physical Requirements

• Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
• Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
• Climb and descend forklift as needed
• Lift 50 pounds as needed
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 60 pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
