Job summary

Owens Corning in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Forklift Operator for the 3rd shift (Mon–Fri, 11:00pm–7:30am). This on-site role supports production by moving doors and materials and requires following work instructions and safety rules.

You must have at least one year of forklift experience with certification and be able to lift up to 50 lbs while standing for long periods. Responsibilities include unloading pallets, staging materials, and coordinating with leadership to meet daily targets.

3rd Shift: Monday - Friday 11:00pm - 7:30am

Pay Rate: $21 hourly plus shift differential

Employee will be driving a forklift but is also on and off the forklift throughout the shift doing tasks that assist in their responsibilities such as, to straighten blocks, check tickets, etc. Based on schedule, pulls, stages, and groups doors based on daily schedule markings and groups identical doors to minimize change-over set-ups on the lines, while maintaining order integrity and sort based on width, saw thickness, length, bevel.

Responsibilities

• Unloads pallets and returned doors into quality hold area.
• Cross train & work in the designated area or in other production areas as needed.
• Able to pull individual doors instead of pulling stacks of 15/30.
• Operates forklift, power pallet jack or manual carts or pallet jacks to unload, move or store materials.
• Follows work instructions and pays attention to details.
• Follows safety and PPE procedures and reports violations to supervisor, leads, and/or to safety.

• Achieves/performs daily targets and output of production.

• Meets quality standards for the chassis pull.
• Follows work practices that are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
• Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and ISO requirements.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5s requirements, rules, and regulations.
• Must be able to work required overtime as needed.
• Work with members of leadership and quality to solve issues.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Performs other tasks and works in other areas as assigned by management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Read interpret tickets.
• Ability to lift 50 LBs, bending, twisting, while carrying product, stooping, pushing, repetitive hand/arm motions, and long periods of constant standing on your feet and walking back and forth.
• Able to get on and off a forklift multiple times a day.

Qualifications

• One year of forklift experience with prior certification.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Able to be self-directed/self-motivated with little supervision.
• Good organizational skills and able to pay attention to detail.
