Job summary

Owens Corning North Platte is hiring a forklift operator to move product and materials within the plant. You will safely operate the forklift, load and unload, and help keep the facility clean and organized while following safety rules.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and prior forklift experience, can multi-task, communicate in English, and work the 1st shift from 6:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate forklift to move product and materials within the facility.
• Load/unload and coordinate with outside services as needed.
• Perform pre-shift forklift inspection for safety and compliance.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety rules.
• Work extended hours/overtime as needed and replace pallets as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision.

Pay: The hourly pay rate range for this position is 24.64 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to North Platte and may not be applicable to other locations.

What your day in this role might involve at OC-North Platte:

Overview

To adequately and efficiently transport product, raw materials, etc. from location to location within the manufacturing facility. Ensure all product is transported in a safe manner.

• Safely and efficiently empty trash throughout the plant multiple times per day
• Coordinate sawdust removal and trash removal with outside companies
• Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
• Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation
• Must be able to work extended hours and overtime as needed if business need requires
• Replace pallets/runners as necessary to maintain a safe working environment
• Will also perform other related duties as assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the job description
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned

There are some essential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:

• Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
• Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
• Climb and descend forklift as needed
• Lift 50 pounds as needed
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 60 pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
