Job summary

WL Plastics, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Fork Lift Operator in Bowie, TX. Responsibilities include unloading/loading product, inspecting items, and placing them in storage yards. You will operate yard equipment, maintain a safe work area, and report to the Shipping Supervisor at the plant.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year warehouse experience, high school diploma or GED, and strong reading, writing, math, and teamwork skills. Weekend work may be required and safety is emphasized throughout the role.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in warehouse/manufacturing, outdoor setting preferred.
• H.S. diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient reading, writing, and basic math.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must work safely in a production environment.
• Able to operate forklift or related material-handling equipment per policy.

Responsibilities

• Unload/load customer product, inspect product, and place it correctly in storage yard.
• Shipping operator is responsible for the proper care and operation of yard heavy equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• The Shipping Fork Lift Operator reports to the Shipping Supervisor at the manufacturing facility.
• Ensure equipment is maintained per company standards and manufacturer recommendations.
• Assist with daily inspections and preventative maintenance of company equipment.
• Operate equipment safely following company guidelines (speed limits, boom extension, etc).
• Participate in safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with city, county, state, and federal regulations in the shipping area.
• Coordinate activities with other departments.
• Communicate with Quality Assurance to support ISO 9001 requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance with the maintenance department for receiving/shipping areas.
• Inventory and load product per shipping orders; label, sort, and band as required per guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Shipping Supervisor.
• Move product from staging area into storage yard safely and efficiently.
• Load trucks according to shipping manifest; verify shipments against invoices/packing lists.
• Provide service to inbound and outbound customers as required.
