Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Forklift & Reach Operator for our Richmond, VA site on a temporary-to-hire basis. The role involves operating forklifts and reach trucks, supporting packaging lines, and maintaining inventory records.

You will work 8-hour shifts in a safety-focused environment with comprehensive training and opportunities for extended hours on occasion.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift operator certification is required.
• Knowledge of cGMP and OSHA safety regulations.
• Experience with SAP or warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
• Able to stand and lift up to 50 lbs for 8–12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supply components to packaging lines to keep production running smoothly.
• Count, verify, and document inventory; cross-check returned stock.
• Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual hoists safely after checks.
• Remove leftover materials to maintain clean lines between product lots.
• Make accurate entries in batch records and logbooks.
• Handle, transfer, and label hazardous waste in compliance with EPA rules.
• Maintain 5S and cleanliness in the pharmaceutical plant.

Schedule: 10am - 6pm & 5am - 3pm

We’re seeking a Forklift & Reach Truck Operator to work at a premier manufacturing client in Richmond, VA.

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $17.75 per hour

Shift: 8-hour shift

What’s a typical day as Material Handler? You’ll be:

• Supplying components to packaging lines to support continuous production efficiency.
• Counting, verifying, and documenting inventory before distributing components and cross-checking returned stock.
• Operating forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual hoists safely after completing required checklists.
• Removing leftover materials to clear lines between product lots and maintain production flow.
• Making accurate, legible entries in batch records, logbooks, and clean-up documentation.
• Handling, transferring, and labeling hazardous waste in compliance with EPA regulations, especially on aerosol lines.
• Maintaining line cleanliness and organization by following 5S and pharmaceutical plant protocols.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have and can maintain a valid, active forklift operator certification (must have).
• Are knowledgeable in cGMP, OSHA, and site-specific safety regulations, and can strictly adhere to compliance standards.
• Possess basic computer literacy; experience with SAP or warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly preferred.
• Can stand and sit for extended periods (8- to 12-hour shifts), bend, pull, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
