Job summary

Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is seeking a Material Handler at its Mt. Airy, NC distribution center to operate forklifts, move and stack materials, and support production schedules. You will ensure accurate inventory, perform safety checks, and collaborate with teams to maintain smooth material flow.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Moves and stacks materials, including shed components and truck accessories, within the warehouse or production area using the forklift.
• Loads and unloads materials from trucks or other storage areas, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items.
• Assists in maintaining accurate inventory records by tracking the movement of materials and reporting discrepancies.
• Conducts visual inspections of materials, identifying and reporting damages or issues.
• Works with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely material movement for production schedules.
• Promotes a culture of safety, reports hazards, and supports safety training and compliance.
• Generates regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance activities, and budget adherence.
