Job summary

Payzant is seeking a motivated Forklift Operator/Yard Associate to join our team. If you enjoy active work with equipment, you will help keep safety, teamwork, and efficiency at the forefront.

You will perform inspections, operate forklifts, load and unload materials, and stage orders for delivery while maintaining a clean, organized yard. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous forklift or warehouse experience
• Experience in building materials, lumber, distribution, or a similar environment
• Ability to lift and move materials safely
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Complete daily forklift and equipment inspections
• Safely operate counterbalance forklift and other material handling equipment
• Load, unload, move, and organize products throughout the yard
• Load trusses on delivery vehicles
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard
• Accurately pick and ensure orders are complete
• Stage orders for delivery
• Prioritize tasks to keep products moving efficiently
• Identify and resolve inventory, order, or material handling issues
• Support other warehouse and yard activities as required

What You’ll Do

Warehouse & Material Handling

• Complete daily forklift and equipment inspections
• Safely operate counterbalance forklift and other material handling equipment

• Load trusses (big and small) on delivery vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard area
• Accurately pick and ensure orders are accurate and complete
• Stage orders for delivery.
• Prioritize tasks to keep products moving efficiently
• Identify and resolve inventory, order, or material handling issues
• Support other warehouse and yard activities as required

What You Bring

• Previous forklift or warehouse experience (preferred)
• Experience in building materials, lumber, distribution, or a similar environment (an asset)
• Ability to safely lift and move materials throughout the workday
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Good time management and organizational skills
