Material Handler – Dekalb, Illinois

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Dekalb, Illinois. The role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Pay and Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $20.30 per hour
• Schedule: Three-and-a-half day workweek (Sunday – Tuesday 5:15 am to 4:45 pm, Wednesday 5:15 am to 11:15 am)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit tote induction, stage products, load and unload trucks.
• Manage day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Team player who can work within a diverse work environment.
• Highly thorough and dependable with a strong attendance record.
• High degree of initiative and accuracy, even under pressure.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Capability to work using health and safety methods.
• Availability for a flexible schedule on various shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
